Zen Your Life Thursday: Make Room for Magic

Hey beautiful hearts!

Each Thursday, we hang out together as a gaggle of goddesses & make our gorgeous lives a little clearer, calmer and more zen. We do one Zen Your Life project together for the day… an easy, possible kind of project… just one small thing to make our lives more zen.

When we make space in our lives, we are making room for even more delight, comfort, magic and love to enter.

Sound like yummy delicious fun? Want some more zen goodness in your life?

Hurrah! Let’s start! We can doooo eeeeeeeet!

Today, your Zen Your Life project is:

There is a shelf near you – or maybe it’s a drawer. Have a look around. You will see it. It’s looking a little cluttered. Maybe it has unknown secrets and treasures in there. Maybe it just needs some clearing and love. You’ve got five minutes to go through it & make it clear!

Yahoo! Set a timer… you can do it.

You will feel so, so, so amazingly good & clear after doing it.

Need some accountability?

You can use the above buttons on your blog. You can check-in to the Comments Circle. You can write out your Zen Goddess goal on a scrap of paper beside you.

Whatever you need to do to give yourself the support you need, do it.

Loving you, fellow Zennifying Goddessa!

Promise to Self

I will no longer listen to scary birth stories.

I will no longer listen to people who say “Birth is…” when they really should say “My experience of birth is…”

I will believe in myself.

I will believe in my baby.

I will believe in my partner.

I will read books that make me feel light inside.

I will not believe that there is anything wrong with me.

I will believe in the highest.

I choose to believe that Birth and Motherhood can be a fun adventure.

I choose to see that life, love and birth are what we decide it will be.

I choose to know that Little Mermaid’s birth will be profound – no matter what.

I choose to surround myself with healers and birth helpers who help me feel good, strong, courageous and well.

I choose my destiny, over and over again.

I choose to give over any judgements that I may know what is best for someone else’s journey. I choose to release any other person’s judgements of my journey also.

I choose freedom.

I choose strength.

I choose laughter and courage.

I choose to walk the path of the medicine woman.

I choose to not get wrapped up and knotted up in other people’s experiences or words.

I choose not to be injured.

I choose, over and over again, to be healed, to have faith, to love, and to laugh.

I choose to stand back up when I stumble.

I choose to be okay with myself.

I choose to walk in the morning light.

I choose to accept.

I choose to give thanks.

I choose the direction of well-being.

I choose the path of wisdom.

Again and again, I promise and dedicate this to myself.

I am only human, but inside me too,

there is a guru, a goddess, a woman,

who knows who she is,

and just how beautiful things can be

when she allows them in.

Amen.

Switch Off Sunday: The Sacred Edition

Good morning panda bears!

Hurrah! It’s that beautiful day of the week again… that ritual of making all or part of our Sunday switched off…

Why do I make it a ritual? Because… all of us know it would be better to take time off from being online… but as the days roll by, we forget to do it. By making it a weekly ritual, it becomes part of our gorgeous routine… and becomes integrated into our luscious life.

You can join me by taking off the whole day, the morning, the afternoon or just a couple of hours off from being online.

Welcome back, sacred Sunday!

Sacred reasons for Switch Off Sunday…

I just finished my last week of work on Friday… I am now officially a Home & Mama-to-be & Business Goddess! *Hurrah!*

It’s even more important for me to switch off this week… while I’ve got lots of work and writing I want to do… I want to honour some sacred Sabbath time with my love.

A couple of weeks ago, my love got me to watch Everything is Spiritual – a wonderful lecture on spirituality, science, love and life by Rob Bell.

Just so you get a picture of what it’s like… here’s a beautiful minute-&-a-bit-long segment from it.

In it, Rob goes on to talk about Sabbath – about how our lives began with rhythm – with creation then rest. Creation, then rest.

On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.

or:

And on the Seventh day, God rested.

A note about religion…

Oh yeah… Leonie totally just quoted ze Bible on a Goddess website. What is with that?

I should explain – just incase you are new here, or feeling a little confused.

First and foremost, I don’t regard myself as being religious. Spiritual – yes, but not religious.

I don’t prescribe to one religion – but my spirituality is the most important thing in my life. It’s my way of hearing, feeling and understanding the beauty in this world.

I regard myself as being a spiritual buffet-ist: I eat dinner from the succulent morsels of many different religious systems including Buddhism, Earth-based ancient traditions including Native American, Celtic and Australian Aboriginal, Shamanism, New Age, Hindu & Christianity.

My litmus test is this:

Does this feel right, good and true for my soul?

If it does, I happily make it a part of my soul’s nourishment. If it doesn’t, I leave it at the buffet for someone else whose soul might need its nourishment instead.

As my giggling homeboy the Dalai Lama says:

There are six billion people in this world. There are six billion paths up the mountain to God. Not one. Not the five of the major religions. We all have our own path to find God.

Amen & Awomen to that, Mr Hottiecakes.

I totally, totally believe that we can each create our own personal religion – the one that completely fills us up, re-centres us, and helps us find home.

I’m currently the Pope, Bishop & High Priestess of Leonie-ism: the Spiritual Buffet Tradition and it works really beautifully for me.

Maybe your own personal You-ism religion is formed by one whole existing religious tradition. Maybe you linger at the buffet option like me. Maybe you are in the kitchen concocting something totally new, that doesn’t have a name yet.

Either way, it’s all perfect.

Whenever we follow the call of our spirits, it is a good thing.

So…

Now we have ze religion talk out of ze way!

Hearing Chief-Spiritual-Geek-Sweetheart Rob Bell talk about the seventh day being one of rest really struck home for me.

It made deep sense to me… that after six days of toiling, creating, working and being *out there* in the world… we needed a day of rest and replenishment… a day of being *inward focussed.*

It’s just like the Native American Medicine Wheel – for three-quarters of the wheel, you are out in the world, walking your talk, being inspired, making it happen. And the quarter of the West is the place where you return to your cave, to find stillness again.

When I go on a binge of DO-create-make-it-all-happen – and don’t have any Sabbath days, or West cave-time, I lose touch with myself. I get burnt out. And my body *forces* me to take Sabbath, and honour the West. And because I haven’t honoured it in too long, it takes longer than a day to recover and heal, usually.

I wonder if there is a way I can make my life more sacred, wholesome and healed, by including that natural rhythm of Sabbath, healing, West-cave and being each week. To give myself what my body, soul and mind need long before it hits me over the head with burn-out to prove it’s point.

I’m going to be honest here…

I don’t know how to stop. I find it really, really hard to stop creating and ticking things off my to-do list.

I’m a Do-Baby who doesn’t quite know the way of becoming the Be-Baby for a while.

But I want to learn… I am an eager student of Beingness!

So I’m handing it over to you…

What are your suggestions for Switch Off Sunday?

What are some ways to rest, heal, take Sabbath, and honour the Western cave?

Tell me what to do! 🙂

love you big time,

Zen Your Life: Starting with E

Hey beautiful hearts!

Last week’s first Zen Your Life Thursday was smigging gloooorious! It was completely delicious hanging out with all of you goddesses in the Comments Circle as we made our gorgeous goddess lives a little clearer, calmer and more zen.

Each Thursday I’ll post your Zen Your Life project for the day… an easy, possible kind of project… just one small thing to make our lives more zen.

Sound like yummy delicious fun? Want some more zen goodness in your life?

Hurrah! Let’s start! We can doooo eeeeeeeet!

Today, your Zen Your Life project is:

Unsubscribe from 5 RSS feeds or 2 e-newsletters.

I know, I know. It’s a bit of a hard one.

But if you’re like me, you probably subscribe to a couple hundred RSS feeds and a bazillion e-newsletters.

And the thing is – I have so many a’going on that I never really savour them. Never drink them in completely with delight. I’m always feeling a little bit anxious that my unread feeds is always high… and before I signed off from my inbox, I mostly relegated my e-newsletters to a “To Read” file {that never really got read & just overwhelmed me even more}.

The point of our delicious, luscious lives is not to feel anxious, overwhelmed and overloaded.

So today we are clearing away. Making some space. Some breathing room again.

Coz we deserve it, and we need it, and we know just how amazing we will feel afterwards.

The New Big Thing!

Hola beautiful hearts…

Psssssssssssssstttt…

announcement time….!

I just wanted to let you all know I’m working on the next big thing…

actually the Biggest thing I’ve created yet…

a Kit to help goddesses create their own abundant businesses.

I totally, totally believe that every soul in this world can be employed in the job of being themselves… and that the beauty of the interwebs is totally supporting this process.

My business has been one of the greatest gifts in my life… to me and my family… and has given us so much beautiful freedom and extra abundance… and a whole bucketload of joy… as well as feeling like I’m living my soul purpose.

And I get so many emails and questions from other goddesses who would love to create their own divine, spirited business… where they get paid to do the things they love… so I wanted to create this Kit to help any goddess who wants to do it.

SO! If you have any questions – or things that you’d like to know about – in how to be an Abundant Business Goddess… please let me know in the comments… and I can try to make sure the Kit includes all the answers 🙂

Okly dokly… it’s nearly bed time for this ducky & her mermaid… a bath first!

But for now… big bear hugs like a fluffy pregnant mama bear…

I totally believe we are changing this world…

big love you!
