Dreaming big once again!
This year is the second year that I’m using Leonie’s awesome planner for both my business and my life! I have to admit something, though – last year, even though I was super excited to use it, my inner voice would sometimes say, “What if you can’t meet your goals? Then you’ll let yourself down. It’s better to play it safe and write down what you think you can do so you won’t let yourself down.” So at first I wrote down the goals that I THOUGHT I could reach – a $50,000 launch instead of a $100,000 launch. Or a planning retreat in my hometown instead of one at an amazing spa by the beach!
After a few pages I realized that this was really not the purpose of this amazing planner and that I better start dreaming big, so I started over again and this time DREAMED BIG. I wrote down what I actually wanted and the more I wrote, the easier it became to really dream big.
So what happened?
I used both the biz and life planners in 2013 and amazingly enough, many of my dreams and goals came true. One of my dreams was to actually get paid to write guest articles and, within a few days of writing that down in the planner, it happened! Another goal was to connect and mastermind with other successful entrepreneurs and in February 2013 I was invited to a mastermind retreat (all expenses paid!) with some amazing people.
And one of my ultimate goals was to get myself out there more and to get comfortable with speaking in front of large groups of people. As a result, I started doing more videos and booked some speaking engagements and, before I knew it, I was teaching a three-day course to almost 10,000 people on creativeLIVE! It was truly a dream come true.
I have to admit something else – it was much easier planning for my business than planning for my personal life.
At first it seemed that every personal goal that I would set would have an impact on my husband and kids. For example, if I planned a retreat by myself, my husband would have to watch all three kids without my help. Or if I wanted to go to the gym 3 times a week it would mean that my kids wouldn’t see me right after school. So, once again, it took a few tries before I wrote down what I really wanted as opposed to what I thought would be the least disruptive to my family.
I am grateful that I have a very supportive husband because he was on board with 100% of my plans. I was able to take trips to Los Angeles, Portland, Lake Tahoe, San Diego and San Francisco throughout the year! And life at home went on just as smoothly without me there.
What am I dreaming up for 2014?
After seeing the success I had last year, I’ve already started planning for next year and I am getting so much clarity about what I want my business and my life to be in 2014!
I am getting clear on my
- financial goals
- business goals
- personal goals
and I know that I have already made room for them.
In terms of my business, my goals are to double it all – my income, my mailing list, my social media reach and my network, while doubling my impact and helping other entrepreneurs double their own business! In addition, I’m dreaming of an amazing support team – a business manager, a copywriter, a designer and a tech genius – who can implement my vision and help me dream even bigger.
In terms of my personal life my goals include:
- a weekend trip alone with my husband,
- a relaxation retreat by myself,
- a weekly hike,
- a longer morning walk, and
- more time doing hot yoga, which is one of my favorite things to do!
One big thing that I’m also implementing in my plans for 2014, in addition to what I want to do, is how I want to feel. Words like empowered, unstoppable, confident, full of love, connected, inspired and fully alive are written down all over my planner and they serve as a reminder of how I truly want to feel each day.
I feel so blessed to have come across these amazing planners that are not only beautiful to look at and hold, but also extremely inspiring and empowering! I have recommended them to all of my clients and everyone I know and will continue to do so for years to come!
