Today’s guest post is by my lovely mate Jen Saunders. Jen is the creator of Wild Sister Magazine and the Wild Sisterhood. Living by the sea with her husband, when she’s not creating the next edition, blog post or ecourse, Jen loves movie marathons, writing fiction and instagramming ridunkulously cute photos of her pug.
As you know, I very rarely accept guest posts, but each year I like to invite some gorgeous, passionate, inspiring women to share their new year dreams, goals + miracles.
The more we hear of women dreaming big dreams and making them happen, the more it will become the “new normal” and fuel us to do just the same.
Introducing dear Jen!

Jen’s Dreams
Last year was a pretty incredible year for me. Everything about myself and my life changed. Dreams came true. My biggest goals were achieved. And I know I can trace all that back to the early days of January when I filled out Leonie’s 2013 workbooks.
It was the act of writing down my goals, of diving deep into myself to find what I really wanted my life to be, that catapulted me towards my dreams.
Within the colourful pages of those workbooks, I got crystal clear on what I wanted. I dreamed, planned and created my year until I had a map towards my dream life, and then I went after it with everything I had until it was my reality.
Just some of the dreams I achieved were:
- Earn enough money through my business that my husband could quit his day job and work from home with me.
- Spend a blissful few months living in Ubud, Bali.
- Move to our favourite beach side town.
- Hit six figures in my business.
I also:
- hired new team members to help me run my business
- sponsored girls in developing countries to get an education
- created new products
- wrote a novel {and three novellas!}
- went on a cruise to New Caledonia
- read 12+ books {a lot for me!}
- held the first annual Wild Sister of the Year Awards
- and celebrated many more milestones along the way.
All these achievements started out as words on a page in Leonie’s workbooks.
Yep, 2013 was the most amazing year of my life.
And 2014 is going to be even better.
Because I’m doing it all again, this time with even more clarity, determination and belief in myself than ever before.
In 2014, I’m living my life guided by one question:
What makes you come alive?
Inspired by the Howard Thurman quote,
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
This guiding question will remind me to do what makes me happy and to act on those electric moments of inspiration that spark new ideas and birth new gifts into the world – those moments that make me come alive.
So, with those words in mind, my dreams for 2014 are few, but powerful.
- I want to gather the best content from Wild Sister Magazine to create the first Wild Sister print book.
- I want to finish my fiction series and self-publish.
- I want to continue to help women love themselves, follow their bliss and change the world, by providing our sisterhood with inspiring content and life-changing tools.
- I want to spend more time with the people I love, and dedicate one day a week to watching movie marathons with my husband and adorable pug puppy.
- I want to go on brunch dates, spontaneous road trips, and walks along the beach.
- I want to hear bursts of laughter, the celebratory clanging of champagne glasses, and moments of peaceful silence.
- I want to feel alive and excited, and experience moments of overwhelming gratitude.
These are dreams that make me come alive just by thinking about them, and I know that means I need to make them happen.
And with the help of the 2014 Create Your Amazing Year Workbooks, I know I will.
