Getting Real (or The Best Biz Lesson I’ve learned from Leonie Dawson)
Leonie Dawson is an unstoppable force of nature, and I’m so glad that I found her.
Her Amazing Biz & Life Academy is just that – Amazing. And the singular thing that drew me to her and her fabulous Academy is also the best business lesson she has taught me, and that is to be real, to be honest, to be fearlessly authentic.
To recognize that those who are gonna love you are gonna love you just the way you are. Period.
The funny thing is, this is something that I help clients do all the time. And yet, in little subtle ways I was still hiding. Sure, I have made an effort to always be honest and real with my family, friends, and yes, my clients. I write a weekly blog and I make a point to show up truthfully and authentically there too.
Of course I want to put my best face forward, just like anyone else, and I make an effort to do just that, by staying in integrity and making choices that align with my values.
So I wasn’t being secretive or dishonest, but I was hiding by allowing myself to be isolated, by playing small, by not being in community. And for those of us who run internet businesses it is such an easy trap to fall into. It is so easy to spend the majority of time writing, editing, posting on social media, creating programs, researching new ideas, etc.
This past Spring and Summer I felt a longing for something, I felt like something was calling to me, it seemed like my life and business were missing something but I was unsure of what it was. Then I found Leonie’s Amazing Biz & Life Academy and realized that the big thing I was missing was a community of other women that were in the process of building amazing lives and amazing businesses and doing it with the intention of staying true to their authenticity.
I believe that Leonie owes much of her success to her tremendous ability to be true to who she is. She positively shines because of it, and that beautiful glow rubs off on her Academy and everyone who makes a home there.
She is a wonderful model of what it is to be honest, real, raw, vibrant, authentic and successful.
To be in community with this vibrant group of women has changed my life and my business.
Feeling completely safe and comfortable being my authentic self and continuing to build and enjoy my unique business with the help and mutual support of Leonie and this group continues to be a powerful experience for me.
During the past 3 months I’ve gotten new clients, created new programs, and have been published in Huffington Post and Wild Sister Magazine, just to name a few things that have transpired since I’ve been a part of Leonie’s Academy. Working my way through Leonie’s Business Goddess Course was the inspiration for so much forward movement for me and my business.
The internet is full of business advice and learning tools, ideas, templates and models to help you run a business…and Leonie Dawson’s Academy is no slouch in that department. Her Business Goddess Course (as well as all of her other courses and goodies) are top notch and FULL of great material. But the real thing that continues to make it all so powerful for me is the community that lives and thrives and supports each other all under the Academy’s virtual roof.
Leonie Dawson and her fantastic offerings and courses have taught me a multitude of great business lessons, but my favorite one is the ongoing one…the lesson of being real, and doing it with a group of other amazing women shining goddesses who value authenticity and all glow with that same beautiful light.
