2013 dream extravaganza

G’day darlinghearts!

Today’s guest post is by the gorgeous Loralee Hutton. Loralee uses her unique blend of business savvy, empathy, magic & intuition to help solopreneurs create products and programs that can generate income so they feel good about taking that much needed vacation or month off to help their parents move into a smaller home. She loves traveling & recently spent 16 months housesitting in various locations across British Columbia, Canada.

As you know, I very rarely accept guest posts, but each year I like to invite some gorgeous, passionate, inspiring women to share their new year dreams, goals + miracles.

The more we hear of women dreaming big dreams and making them happen, the more it will become the “new normal” and fuel us to do just the same.

Take it away Loralee lovely!

What I’ve wanted to do my whole life, yet feel completely unqualified to do, is write.
Write from my heart. From me to you. Sometimes from me, to me. Turns out I’m not that great with grammar & words. I need a full time editor, proof-reader and army of people looking over my shoulder to make my words make sense. Yet I dream.
Since I was a the tiny 3 year old version of me, sitting in the top shelf of my brother’s bedroom closet, writing songs and stories (that coincidentally also weren’t very good – although Mom would tell a different story). And by the time I reached high school I realized my story telling could only be done in person, my writing was that bad.

And wouldn’t you know it? While working through Leonie’s 2013 Create Your Incredible Year Planner, the words that came out on the page that said,
“This year I give myself permission to….”
Write
Publically make mistakes.

That’s it. Nothing else. Just those two “simple” yet completely mortifying words/phrases.
Allow myself to make mistakes in public? Feel ashamed if I need to (for a while) and write. You see, I have some stories I still want to share. I’ve been bottling them up because I don’t like feeling afraid, or ashamed, or embarrassed for that matter. And so instead, I’ve worked really, really hard to cover up a little glitch in the “Loralee System”. This year, I hope to quieten the fear. To feel courageous.
That’s my word for this year! Courage!
To feel less scared of making a complete and utter fool of myself in public. I have a little thing I never tell anyone about. Well, it used to be little and now it seems to have grown into a mountain. It’s called Dyslexia. And I used to think that meant I wasn’t smart, so I tried really, really hard to hide it. (I earned degrees and even built an awesome business). Now I’m trying to look straight at it, learn what I can and find a way to walk along beside it. And hopefully feel less tired.
Nothing in my business education prepared me for the vulnerable place I stand in today, with this childhood dream. In fact, business school probably reinforced my fears when I barely squeaked by with a passing grade in Business English. When they say “entrepreneurship is the most intense spiritual journey”, they’re right. I believed it 12 years ago when I started my first business, and believe it even more strongly today.

(Leonie says: I do LOVE seeing one well used business planning workbook! Hurrah!)

So, this is the BIG life challenge I’m embracing in 2013.

And every step of the way I’ll have Leonie’s beautiful Life Planner beside me, guiding me with the words I’ve written this month. Made easier by following the tiny action steps I created to achieve the bigger goals.
And I’ll continue adding more to it as I’m taking big and little strides towards my dream; of writing, and not being afraid of making mistakes in public.

My heart is so full knowing so many incredible women around the world are creating, planning, dreaming + making happen some amazing lives and businesses this year.

This is true magic. Being a powerful creator of your own life, sending brightness and good out into the world.

Changing everything you touch along the way (including our beautiful selves!)

love,

P.S. I had a vision a month ago that I was supposed to help 10 000 women create incredible lives + businesses in 2013 with my uber cheap + hugely powerful workbook.

5 000 women have already said YES, THIS IS MY YEAR TO SHINE.

Are you ready to step up + do the same?
