Hola gorgeous Goddesses!
From the very beginning I found out I was incubating a new little soul, I was all jumpitty-tigger-excitable about the kind of herbal brews I could concoct to help my hottie body in the process.
I thought I’d share with you the how-to making of what I like to refer to as “Uterus Tea”… or pregnant goddess tea 🙂
Choosing your herbal medicine
Herbs, like all medicine, are a personal choice you get to make… to work out what works for your body, and what you’d like to create in your life.
The very bestest book I can recommend on herbal medicine during pregnancy is:

Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year by Susun Weed.
It will give you the gorgeous herbal wisdom & medicine that you can choose for you.
I began drinking my tea blend regularly from about 20 weeks. There’s a whole lot of varied advice on when to drink what herbs when during pregnancy – my best advice is to have a read around and see what you feel comfortable with.
And medical disclaimer-y thingmebobsicles: If you’re not sure, check with a licensed herbalist or your doctor. I have to say that because I only know what’s good for my body… yours is a whole other beautiful constellation of stars and cells, and you are the best choice-maker for it.
In my brew, I put:
- Raspberry leaf: This is the mother of all pregnancy tonics, me thinks. This helps to tone the uterus, prepare the body for labour and assist with creating goddess boob milk.
- Nettle: Chock-full-o nutrients and is muchos soothing. Also helps with the inducement of GBM (goddess boob milk).
- Alfalfa: Has Vitamin K goodness and bunches more nutrient scrumptiousness.
- Oatstraw: More nutrients to support two growing bodies, and also helps with nerves.
- Peppermint: Soothes the pregnant bel-bell, and makes the tea taste muchos better.

First: Gather your ingredients.
I got a sealable glass cannister, and brown paper bags filled with dried herbs.

Second: Gather your tribe.
Because things are way more fun when you do them together. Me, Chris, Charlie-puppy and my belly.
Angel was off doing more important things like scrawling love songs to Chris in the notepad she keeps stashed under her fur. I don’t really blame her. Girl has good taste.

Three: Combine.
Pour all the dried herbs together in a bowl and blend with your hands.

Four: Get extra love poured in.
I asked Chris to use his hands to pour blessings into the tea for when I drank in. He said he put in Calm + Love. Perfect.

Five: Store it like a squirrel.
If squirrels used tall glass jars.

Six: Drink it Up!
Some goddesses recommend drinking it all the way through pregnancy.
I started drinking a cup a day from 20 weeks. Over the last trimester, I’ve upped it to two or three a day.
I’m feeling pretty radiant all round, and muchos supported with all this help from the plant realms.
Herbal medicine is such a gift!
Hope this has been helpful sweetcheeks…
I want you to know just how precious you are!
big love,
