This Goddess’ Week {Edition 2}

Hola gorgeous Goddess!

How’s your week been, my love? I hope it’s been simply scrumptious!

I have no idea what to call these megalithic hodge-podge posts of updates + photos + links… I keep thinking I should have some fancy shmancy series all neatly packaged up in an easily digestible tidbit… but I’m resisting putting rules on this. This sharing, just the way it comes. It feels like my life and brain – full to the brim with life,  mamahood, creating + business stuff – is incapable of doing anything much except dot points laden with love.

Ready? Okaysies! Share-a-thon!

Leonie’s week=

Having a weekend of Supreme Rest. I was feeling way run down & a weekend of stillness & naps & TV watching was just the remedy. Danggit, I find it SO HARD to give myself Permission To Do Nothing. But holy dinger it is needed. And it feels so so so good when I do. Restorative. Soul-stillness.

Finishing up a few projects that have been waiting! EXCITED! The very helpful and magical Unicorn Guide went out to my Goddess Circle sisters. I finally got some cahones & sent out big packages of the greeting card range I designed a few years ago to greeting card companies. YIPPEE! {It was on my Things To Do This Life List & I decided now was it’s time!} Aaaaaand… I’m nearly finished getting the 2011 edition of the Creating your Goddess Year workbook done! {It’s going to have a printable CALENDAR too! Hurrrrah!}

Watching: Gene Simmons Family Jewels {Chris is a big ole KISS fan & I dig Gene’s entrepreneurial spirit}, Community & Modern Family.

Reading: Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves. It’s making my brain {and mama heart} open and widen and get clearer.

And a week in Facebook updates…

Have you ever wondered what your life looks like from Facebook updates?

Here’s what you missed this week if you’re not friends with me on Facebook:

Reason #672 I will never have a fashion blog: Today’s outfit: Grey Ghostbusters T-shirt & grey yoga pants.

Besotted in love with new rainbow chakra prayer flags hanging in our room. Like, I will bear its tiny prayer flag babies kinda love.

Today’s Real Goddess Wears: Hunky love’s green animal camouflage tshirt from Singapore Zoo. And terrible 80’s black+white pants with printed words all over them. I look freaking DELIGHTFUL.

Having a nap while I hear Chris fixing stuff on ze roof and trimming hedges. I need my energy restored so i can perve on him later.

Just finished up a little guide on starting up your art business over at the Goddess Circle. This life makes me happy. That is all. ♥ ♥ ♥

Grateful to my love for: 1. Bringing me fresh jocks and pants after a shower. 2. Being such an amazing, loving Daddy to Ostara. 3. Cleaning our lil cottage. 4. Understanding and hearing me. 5. Being hot.

Here’s what I learned from this exercise:

1. I sound like I’m a bit Chris-obsessed. Funny that. I AM.

2. I wear hot clothes. And clean jocks, thanks to Chris.

3. I want to be friends with that funny chick named Leonie. She sounds like my kind of wacky blend of awesome and scrumptious.

The End.

And your weekly dose of a little goddess I like to call Ostara Faith Avalon…

This girl totally has my heart.

Aaaaaand! Here’s what’s inspired me on ze interwebs this week…

A letter to women from the heart of a warrior in transition. This really touched me.

Really, REALLY inspired by Dean Wesley Smith’s idea for the new world of publishing & an option to take when trying to get a book published.

Can you please please remind me to make one of these gorgeous play cubbies for Miss Ostara when she’s big enough. OH GAWD. I just had a flash-forward to seeing her as a little curly-blonde fairy running in and out ze cubby door. *heartgasm* Please excuse me while I go have a little weep.

The Myth of the Pre Baby Body

When Women Circle by Goddess Maggie Ann

When women circle there is a spirit created that holds, caresses, sings to, inspires, sets afire every soul present. When women circle the intentions spoken are carried on wings of prayer and affirmed so powerfully that a velocity is created which heightens the speed of their manifestation in what we call reality. When women circle the world changes, vibrations resound, echoing the pulse of sacred hearts of love joined in unity.

And some very silly videos…

Three videos that tottttally tickled my very silllly funny bone… to make you giggle on this fine day! WE NEED MORE GIGGLES! WE NEED THEM NOW!

{swearing in this one}

The inappropriate yoga guy had me in guffaws of laughter… have you met him in your yoga classes?

I’ve met similar in shamanic drumming circles!

And if you are a twitter twit like me…

Let’s bring it in tight darlingheart… time for a GROUP HUG!

big love & great spirit,

Introducing: 17 Days of Zing!

Because I always have hilarious ideas in bed.

And I heart fun fully sake {sacred} challenges!

Starting November 1, there’s going to be ze 17 Days of Zing!

17 days of doing the Holy Dinger Uber Deep Zennifying Meditation.

November is kinda bonkadoodles for me.

It’s my birthday, and my love’s birthday, and I start getting Christmas-ready… and it’s always just full on.

Lovely, but full on.

So I’m taking it back! Zennifying goddess style!

I’m going to do the 5, 10 or 20 minute meditation everyday.

You can join in if you feel like you need some de-bonkersifying & more sacred ahhhhhhhh {the exhale, not the scream. hee!}

You can grab a HDUDZM (ha!) kit for $25 buckeroos, otherwise Goddess Circle sisters of course get it {and everything else I make} for fweeee with their membership.

I’ll post here along the way, and share over at ze circle as well… as I turn November into something less bonkadoodles & more gentle, kind & zennifying.

Ohm on, hottie cakes!

love you!

The Message

{Hola gorgeous goddess…
I just found this story of a healing I received in Dreaming Land while I was still pregnacious…
and I wanted to share it with you…}

Last night, I go to bed after working and worrying way too much.

I clamber around, looking for the miracle cure.

Inside me, a voice says:
Enough. Use your tools, Leonie.
And so I do.
I stream the list of tools in my head I can use, and I remember:
Call your elders.
My body lights up at the thought.
Oh goodie. It is time to go home.
I turn my lamp off, and I call my elders to me.
Elders, please be with me. Please surround me. Please give me the healing and teachings I need right now.
I feel their presence all around me.
And then I see a crystal mountain in front of me.
I walk up it, and half way there, I see a wooden see-saw balance on a rock. It rocks back and forth, back and forth.
There is something profound about this see-saw. I sit on the ground to watch it, and listen to its medicine.
This is the way you are right now, Leonie. Up and down, up and down, teetering this way and that way.
It is time to do things differently now.
And I see the see-saw becoming stable, and whole, and grounded to the earth, a soft place to be.
I study it some more, letting it weave its onion meanings and depths into me.
When I am ready, I walk the rest of the path to the top of the mountain.
There, among the sky and breeze and light, there is a white pillared open-wall temple.
My elders are gathered there.
I lay down in the centre, and feel their hands over me – my face, my body, my limbs.
I am given a healing.
Great surges of light wash over me, like waves of rain,
and as they do,
I feel the little mermaid inside me
swishing her mermaid tail strongly
in time with each healing wave.
The moment stands still, the cosmos lights up,
and I smile at just what a miracle this life is…
just how loved we all are…
how healing is just around the corner…
we only need to listen..
AHO! to you dear goddess sister,

Anxiety-Busting Aromatherapy: 5 Ways to use aromatherapy to reduce anxiety…

Oil Burner

Hola gorgeous Goddess!

Yesterday the gorgeous Goddess Gina shared her Top 7 essential oils to heal anxiety… and today we’ll be learning new ways to use them!

Yippee! This is like going to a sweet lil healing class together… pens & paper out, darlinghearts! Let’s become mega-wise healing goddesses!

I am going to tell you a couple simple ways for you to incorporate Aromatherapy to help you reduce anxiety. You can use any of the essential oils above by themselves, or combine them to create your own aromatic oasis blend. You may also have a favorite essential oil that you like to use for anxiety relief that you can incorporate in the following ways as well:

1. A Blissful Soak

Taking a nice warm bath in general is very calming to both your mind and body, but when you add essential oils to the bath water, you have just amped up the anxiety relieving power of a bath. To a full tub of warm bath water, add 6-10 drops total of one essential oil or of an essential oil blend, swish it around and enjoy your bath. You can also dilute your essential oil or blend in powdered milk, dead sea salts or a base oil such as sweet almond oil before adding to your bath if you have sensitive skin.

2. An Aromatic Rub

This is one of my favorite ways to use Aromatherapy for anxiety relief because not only are you inhaling the scent which will help relax your mind, but you are also massaging the body oil onto your skin which is relaxing and calming to your body. Plus your skin gets hydrated! You can also use your body oil as a bath oil and to massage your hands and feet before you go to bed which is a total anxiety buster as well. I do this practically every night right before I go to bed. Body oils are one of the first Aromatherapy products I ever made. To make your own, add a total of 9-15 drops of essential oils to a 1 ounce bottle with a flip top or screw cap. Then fill the rest of the bottle with a base such as jojoba, sunflower oil or sweet almond oil. Put the cap on, shake gently and poof! You have your own handmade aromatic body rub.

3. Aromatic Atmospheres

You can use a candle or electric diffuser to disperse your chosen essential oil or essential oil blend into the air and this will also have a calming effect on your senses. You could diffuse
your essential oil blend in your bedroom right before you go to bed for a really peaceful nights sleep. Just be sure to blow the candle or unplug your diffuser right before you go to bed! There are also personal fan diffusers that run by battery which I use and love as well. I use it when I am working on my computer so to stay calm and focused especially when I am on the
computer for a long period of time.

**Special note: Be sure to follow the directions that came with your diffuser.

4. Tootsie Treat

A foot bath is so calming! To a basin of water add 5- 7 drops of an essential oil or blend with or without sea salts. When you take care of your feet, your whole body relaxes. If you have ever had a good foot reflexology session, you will know what I mean. You can layer on the anxiety relief by massaging body oil on your feet after you are done with your foot bath. This is great to do at night to wind down from the stresses of your day and to help you sleep better as well.

5. Aroma Spritzer

Add 12-15 drops of your essential oil or essential oil blend to 1 ounce distilled, filtered or spring water in a sprayer bottle. Shake, close your eyes and mist around you whenever needed, avoiding the face area. This is something you can take with you and use throughout the day. If you are really feeling crazy and creative, use rose water in place of the distilled, filtered or spring water – you will be in absolute heavenly bliss!

Bonus: Pull, Twist, Sniff!

Inhale your essential oil or blend right from the bottle itself. If you are out and about and begin to feel anxious, just reach for your essential oil or blend, open the cap and inhale! Ahh, instant stillness.
